Description
Welcome to “Cosmic Contraptions: Rocketry and Rube’s Realm” where the worlds of rocket science and Rube Goldberg machines collide. In this class you will get to spend half the day exploring flight and rocketry, including building and launching a model rocket. As well as exploring different types of flight using different techniques such as computer simulations and many hands-on creations. We will explore different kinds of propulsion, such as air, water, and chemical. Then spend the other half of the day discovering the art of Rube Goldberg’s simple machines to engineer solutions to challenges.
Objectives
To explore different types of rockets and construct simple machines to learn about the engineering process.
